Skin Shelf Review is a small independent publication about everyday skincare. We read labels so US shoppers can compare products on what the box actually says.

How we research

We are upfront about this: we have not bench-tested the products on this site. Our guides rest on three things.

• Manufacturer spec sheets. Product facts come from each brand's own page and the Drug Facts label on DailyMed. Each product card links to that page and shows the date we checked it.
• Arithmetic you can check. We do not score products on results we have not measured.
• Public safety guidance. Sun safety guidance comes from the American Academy of Dermatology and the FDA. Nothing here is medical advice; ask a dermatologist about your skin.

When a maker's own figure sounds optimistic, we label it as the maker's figure.
